There is Intelligent Life Between Manhattan and Malibu!

Updated: Jan 10, 2022

Yes, there are actual living, breathing human beings with the capacity to reason and make good decisions independent of elites roosting in their high rises or Hollywood mansions. That these elites would even presume to know more than any of us “lesser” folk is strange, yet they continue to act like they’re experts in matters political, social, & even medical. As a whole, they don’t actually know more than people like you and me, and in fact, based on what I’m hearing from this pool of activists and advocates, we know a lot more about reality and how the world ticks.

You’ll often hear the justification “I have a platform therefore I’m going to use it for good,” which is fine and not automatically unproductive, but the fact remains that many of these types live in a bubble and know little about typical American life. I don’t have the luxury of living in a bubble and getting paid millions to pretend to be someone else. I have to show up to work each day and maintain a budget. Most Americans do also.

This arrogance and pithy egotism are a perfect reflection of why the electoral college is useful. The urban centers of New York and California, which produce this unitary and delusional view of reality, should not decide an election without an effective check to a potential majoritarian tyranny. The electoral college supplies this check.
